Spinal Cord Sttimulator Continuing Stimulation While Unit Powered Off

Started by caspicer on 03/13/2021 2:15pm

On Jan 13, 2021 my wife had a spinal cord stimulator implanted. Since then she has progressively felt the stimulation even when the unit is shut off. She describes it as feeling like the unit is set to the highest setting and providing stimulation. She has had the unit adjusted on multiple occassions and Boston Scientific said the unit is functioning correctly and she should not be feeling stimulation while the unit is turned off or set to the seeting where she is not supposed to be feeling the stimulation. She has seen the surgeon and they did x-rays and the unit has not moved and everything lookg good from a surgical standpoint. So has anyone out there with a spinal cord stimulator had this type of a complication? If so how did you or did you resolve it? The stimulator does provde my wife with a lot of relief from her pain but she is considering having it removed due to this complication. Thank you all in advance for your help!
