Did I ruin my ACDF recovery by bending down?

Started by looseseal on 11/09/2020 9:04pm

I had an ACDF nearly a week ago for severe bilateral neck/upper back pain. I woke up from surgery with practically no pain. The different was dramatic. However, three days later, I had a momentary lapse in judgment and bent down by bending my spine. I then felt a sharp pain on one side of the back of my neck and down to the top of my back. I have been experiencing significant pain there ever since. The pain is similar to my pre-op pain except that it is just in that one spot.

Has anyone else had an experience like this? I am worried that I ruined my ACDF recovery with a simple mistake.

Oh my. I would love to hear whether your symptoms improved. I had a fusion surgery 18days ago. A few times I've turned wrong and felt pain in my arm and back of hand on and off which lasted for a day or so, but not constant.
